On the 28th of July, we held a members' only session where A/Prof Darshini Ayton (Dementia Learning & Research Community Lead Investigator) shared some recent updates from the world of dementia research.

Key areas discussed:

• Modifiable risk factors for the prevention of dementia and understanding individual versus population risk

  • This included a discussion of factors that have strong and conditional recommendations plus those with little evidence to support them

• The shingles vaccination and its link with dementia prevention​

  • This included a discussion about current results in the literature and ongoing clinical trials​
