Community Etiquette

The Dementia Learning & Research Community was developed through a co-design process with people with lived experience of dementia, current and former carers, dementia researchers, clinicians and advocates.

Through this process, we developed a Community etiquette that guides how we interact during our events.

We are Respectful

  • We are respectful and will listen to what we each have to say.

  • We understand that it is ok to respectfully disagree with others.

  • We have different abilities, views and experiences and will respect these differences.

We communicate in many ways

  • We can choose the way to communicate that is easiest for us.

  • We can raise our hands, unmute ourselves, use the chat function.

  • We understand that some in the community may need more time and space than others to share experiences.

We are all learning

  • We will be open-minded to listen and learn from others' views.

  • We might make mistakes while we are learning.

  • We aim to be understanding of others' mistakes.

Please note:

This community is not for the provision of medical advice.

The Dementia Learning & Research Community is a virtual space that aims to unite people with an interest, expertise or experience in dementia care and research to share and learn.
